The best of the city recognised at star-studded This is Manchester Awards

On November 3rd the city came together for the yearly This is Manchester Awards 2022, celebrating individuals and organisations who represent the best the city has to offer

All nominated were recognised for their fantastic contributions to Manchester over the year, with awards being presented and hosted by Jenny Powell and Scott Thomas.

The awards celebrate the leading lights in fashion, entertainment, sports, hospitality, technology, property, as well as those that have enhanced the Greater Manchester Community with their tireless work.

Winners included former Masterchef Champion and Manchester restauranteur Simon Wood, who scooped Leading Chef for his fine dining restaurant WOOD.

Spinningfield’s The Oast House scored Leading Bar of the year, with formal dining awarded to Fazenda, the Authentic Rodizio Dining Experience.

Alongside the shortlisted businesses, organisations, charities and individuals across varies industry categories, the Supernova was presented by Nazir Afzal, former Chief Crown Prosecutor for NW England, to serial entrepreneur Dr. Nighat Awan OBE, CEO of Shere Khan Group, recognised for her charity work, specifically that which aims to support the young people, women and disadvantaged groups in Greater Manchester.

Previous winners of this prestigious award are John Roberts (AO.com), Fred Done (Bet Fred) and Marcus Rashford MBE.
