The Lowry Hotel launches afternoon tea with a magical twist for Mother’s Day

If your little ones love a spot of magic, then booking the family in for a Mother’s Day afternoon tea treat in The Lowry Hotel’s grand ballroom later this month is an absolute must.
The 5-star hotel is hosting an afternoon tea with a magical twist, promising treats and entertainment that the whole family will enjoy.
Hosted buffet-style in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom, floor-to-ceiling windows fill the space with light and offer grand views across the panoramic Calatrava Bridge and River Irwell.
Afternoon tea at The Lowry Hotel is highly commended by The British Tea Council and includes finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserve, pastries and dainty fancies washed down with teas and infusions.
And the hotel’s chefs have added a few more special items onto the menu for the day in honour of Manc mums and grans.
Alongside all the usual popular favourites, you and the most important lady (or ladies) in your life can look forward to a selection of sumptuous sweet and savoury nibbles.
Savoury standouts include seasonal homemade lamb and mint sausage rolls and a tzatziki and avocado cream prawn cocktail, alongside soft white bloomers stuffed with honey roasted gammon and piccalilli, and wholemeal finger sandwiches filled with sundried tomato and feta cheese.
Sweet tooths will love the mini malteaser cheesecakes, soft French choux buns stuffed with English creme, dark chocolate and citrus gateaux and strawberry brûlée tarts.
There’s an impressive selection of loose leaf teas on offer too, with everything from flowering Earl Grey to jasmine or a classic English breakfast blend available.
Premium options include the hotel’s own LS Lowry blend, a fresh, aromatic and fruity Pai-Mu-Tan white tea, a grassy Dragon Well green tea promising spring freshness and hazelnut sweetness, and a Manchester Bee Honey black tea.
And of course, there are Bellini cocktail and champagne packages on offer too if you feel like a spot of fizz with your afternoon tea treat.

Priced at £30 for adults and half price for children, booking early is recommended.
