There’s a buzz right now at Printworks, as it’s dedicating June to the 100,000 honey bees that reside on its rooftop.
June will see the launch of new pollination stations around the venue created for Printworks’ bees to enjoy – but they aren’t the only ones who get to have all the fun.
Offering a fresh new look with planters of flowers for pollination stations, Printworks will be the talk of the hive to its local residents getting a home makeover.
Three honeycomb inspired sculptures are installed outside the venue to take the perfect selfie, as well as four wildlife-friendly planters for the bees and humans to both enjoy.
With plenty of fresh flowers ready for The Manchester Flower Show, these seven installations offer more than just the perfect picture for your Instagram feed.
Throughout June, those who upload their photo with the honeycomb planters to Facebook and Instagram and tag Printworks will be in with a chance of winning a bee-keeping experience as well as a meal at one of Printworks’ venues including Frankie & Benny’s, Treetop Adventure Golf, Floripa, Hard Rock Café and Cargo.
Each planter contains a QR code, which can be scanned to adopt a Manchester Bee.
Each bee adoption costs £2, with 100 percent of the donation going to local charity, Forever Manchester.
From 1st-7th June guests can also take part in a cocktail trail for The Manchester Flower Show, as each venue has been tasked with putting their own ‘sting’ on The Buzz cocktail.
Each venue’s take on The Buzz will be decorated with unique floral garnishes and bee-themed toppers, and for every cocktail customers enjoy at Printworks, a portion of the cost will be donated to the Forever Manchester charity.
“The worker bee embodies Manchester and its people, so we’re excited to give a little love back to our bees and our people to offer this incredible experience, while also helping our local community through our partnership with Forever Manchester,” said Jason Shay, Printworks.
“We’re looking forward to all the competition entries and putting the cocktails to the taste test.
“There’ll be plenty of fun for everyone with the bees being the buzz for families and our cocktail trail offering something exciting for our visitors.”
Forever Manchester and the Printworks work closely together to look after the many bees that live on the Printworks roof.
You can even adopt a bee and enter into the competition to meet the bees via a bee-keeping experience, with a winner chosen each month.
Enter by donating through the Just Giving page and commenting a bee emoji.
