These are the panoramic views across Manchester and beyond from the top of the city’s newest luxury apartment block.
West Tower on Deansgate rises 45 floors high into the sky and is the first of four new tower blocks taking shape that will form the new Deansgate Square development.
And at the very top are four luxurious penthouses that boast some of the best views of the city – with a bird’s eye view of landmarks like Manchester Town Hall, the football grounds of Manchester City and Manchester United and out to three different counties on the horizon.
The first residents have started to move in to the residential apartment block this week, with a number of apartments still available to rent.
Prices start from £860 a month for a one bedroom apartment, two beds from £1,480 and three bed apartments from £2,140 a month.
Although you’ll need a considerably bigger budget for the three bed, four bathroom penthouses – which are strictly “price on application” although you will be looking at the higher end of four figures a month.
Two out of the four duplex penthouses have already been provisionally rented, but two remain on the market and we got the chance to have a look around at the amazing views.
While most of the apartments in West Tower come fully furnished, the penthouses come with four consultations with an interior designer to make sure you get exactly the look you want.
There’s a super-sleek kitchen area, walk-in wardrobes and the bedrooms are all en-suite. But naturally it’s the view that really sells the space – with a brilliant aspect of the city, viewed right up Deansgate and into the heart of the city looking out to the north and on to the Etihad Stadium.
The hills above Rochdale are clearly visible on a clear day, while to the south you can see Old Trafford and beyond into Cheshire and the Peak District.
You also get a pretty close up view of the tower’s nearest lofty neighbour – the 169 metre high Beetham Tower which houses the Hilton Hotel over its first 23 floors and apartments above. By comparison, West Tower is 140 metres tall, while the biggest of the three other towers under construction at Deansgate Square will be the South Tower which will beat Beetham to stand at 200 metres tall.
West Tower, owned by Legal&General, is entirely rental properties, and all apartments will benefit from the 24 hour concierge service, a residents’ room and on-site parking.
When the next phase of the development is complete in 2020, residents will also get access to a huge sports hall, tennis courts, full length swimming pool, sauna, cinema and a roof-top garden.
