There are lots of things we’re missing right now. Things we used to take for granted that we’ll never take for granted again.
But of all the things we’re missing, what we’re missing most is dining out.
And of all the meals we’re missing, the one we’re missing most is Sunday lunch. A proper Sunday roast with all the trimmings at one of our favourite pubs or restaurants.
You can, of course, do it yourself at home and many people do. But unless you’re a great cook, a home made Sunday lunch is probably not going to be a patch on a restaurant Sunday lunch. And even if you are, it’s nice to let someone else do all the hard work from time to time.
So it’s good to know that, despite the lockdown, you can still enjoy a proper Sunday roast from a Manchester institution that’s famous for its Sunday lunches.
Sam’s Chop House’s Sunday Service is a pre-cooked and packaged two-course Sunday lunch which takes just 15 minutes to prepare because they’ve done all the preparation for you.
This is no ordinary Sunday roast. This is 28-day-aged, grass fed Limousin beef from north Yorkshire supplied by quality butchers, served with Yorkshire pudding, carrot and swede mash, mixed buttered vegetables, dripping roasted Lincolnshire maris piper potatoes and home-made gravy.
This is where the magic happens. Sam’s make their own beef stock and add red wine, a root vegetable mirepoix (that’s a flavour base made from very slow-cooked, diced vegetables, with butter and oil on a low heat without colouring or browning) bay leaf, thyme and garlic.
For dessert there’s home-made sticky toffee pudding with sticky toffee sauce.

A taste of what you’d experience at Sam’s:
So why not enjoy a restaurant quality Sunday roast in the comfort of your own home. You don’t have to worry about driving home, so treat yourself to a couple of bottles of your favourite tipple too.
Then put your feet up and enjoy a snooze in front of the telly. Sounds like a perfect Sunday afternoon, lockdown or no lockdown.
Sam’s Sunday Service is probably the best Sunday roast you’ll ever eat at home. It’s the next best thing to dining out.
