Nowadays, the old cliche that just looking for a job feels like full-time work feels truer than ever. Particularly if you’re on the controversial benefits system Universal Credit, which requires you to show proof of 35 hours of job searches every week.
But there’s good news for job-seekers on the horizon as pop-up pub The Linked Inn arrives in Manchester today following great success in London.
Aiming to show how socialising with your community can get you closer to the job you want, it will be taking over Atlas Bar for the next two days with a view to connecting job-seeking Mancs with prospective employers.
Weary punters could secure themselves a job simply by popping down for an after-work drink at the new local, which will be handing out pints aplenty with its job prospects this week.
Hosted at Deansgate favourite Atlas Bar, The Linked Inn will be playing host to some of the UK’s hottest companies including Heineken, H&M and Auto Trader, who will all be advertising their vacancies on a ‘live job specials board’ at the pub.
LinkedIn experts will be on hand with advice to help people boost their profiles, grow their network and make the most of their online community.
There’ll even be a professional photographer in attendance to give job seekers the chance to perfect their LinkedIn profile picture.
The Linked Inn will be open from today (Tuesday 4th June) to Wednesday (5th) and will run from 5pm to 9pm both days.
Guests must be over 18 and have a LinkedIn profile in order to attend.
