Northwest wine lovers have another reason to look forward to the end of this long winter as the North West Wine Fest Roadshow rolls into town, promising blooming good grapes and an unparalleled wine experience.
The North West Wine Fest Roadshow is a traveling celebration of exciting, exclusive and boutique wines brought to the region by independent merchants, for the first time, at a series of tastings across Greater Manchester and Cheshire.
Organisers of the Big Indie Wine Fest (part of Manchester Food and Drink Festival and now in its 5th year) and North West Spring Wine Fest (now in its 3rd year) are staging the first ever, independent, multi-venue wine tasting series for the region with festivals planned for 4 venues across the northwest.
Dozens of independent wine retailers will be sampling am impressive cornucopia of exclusive, boutique wines at the following venues this Spring:
- C
- Festival Hall, Alderley Edge, 19-20th April
- The Studios, MediaCityUK, 4-6th May.
- St Peters Church Ancoats, 25th -26th May
- Knutsford, 14-15th June (Venue to be announced soon)
Whilst the format of the event will be the same throughout the journey, this urban and suburban wine safari will see a different collection of merchants and wines shown at each venue, and with each location working with local food partners too.
Entrance fee for each show covers customers tastings for the whole session, allowing guests the chance to try and buy the most exclusive and interesting wines from the very best independent retailers in the region. But this is no ordinary wine fair… Each venue will also incorporate a bespoke food offering in partnership with local partners and restaurants too, creating a full gastro experience unique to each neighbourhood.
The roadshow kicks off in Alderley Edge, where merchants showcasing wine will include:

- Origin Wines and Spirits, Wigan

- Smithfield Wine, City Centre, Manchester
- Hangingditch, City Centre, Manchester
- Harvey Nichols, City Centre, Manchester.
As well as food from Cheshire-based Levanter Fine Foods (specialists in fantastic quality Pata Negra (black hoofed) wild boar Jamon Iberico de Bellota).
