Established for over 75 years, Greggs has 1,850 shops nationwide and serves over six million customers a week.

The bakery chain does one of the best value breakfasts in the city, and there are always queues for their hearty breakfast butties.

Now, the retailer has launched a new breakfast click and collect trial exclusively in Manchester city centre. Is this the end of morning queues?

“Our strong customer base in Manchester makes it an ideal place to trial this service, which is designed to make life more convenient for customers in a busy inner city,” said Roisin Currie, retail director at Greggs.

The new service, which launched this week in three Manchester shops, allows customers to pre-order and collect a breakfast order. Customers can order breakfast days or even minutes in advance of collection.

Customers just need to download the Greggs Collect Manchester app, then pick their click and collect location.

Place your breakfast order by picking the items you want right now or schedule your order for pick-up in advance. The order will be charged to the card registered to your account. Then just head to your chosen shop and skip the queue.

Greggs breakfast menu includes a range of pastries, porridges and granola along with breakfast sandwiches, baguettes and wraps and a full range of freshly ground, Fairtrade coffee including a new pumpkin spice latte.

“When it comes to food-on-the-go, our customers tell us that convenience is key, so we’ve been working hard to make Greggs available to our customers when and where they want it,” said Roisin.

“The breakfast click and collect trial is the latest initiative we’re looking at to help make life easier for our customers by offering them quick and convenient access to our great tasting products during the morning rush hour.”

The three shops available for Greggs click and collect are Parker Street, King Street and Manchester Victoria Station.
