Tina Fey’s Mean Girls is the American teen comedy to end all American teen comedies. It’s, well, just so fetch.
It may be fifteen years old, but this coming of age classic still has to be one of the most quotable films out there.
Lindsay Lohan stars as Cady Heron, a homeschooled teenager who’s lived a sheltered life with her parents in Africa – until they move back to Illinois and enrol her in high school to get her ‘socialised’.
Her introduction to high school life is certainly not all rainbows and smiles, as she struggles to navigate North Shore High’s many and varied cliques.
Along the way, the film tackles some important questions: like whether butter really is a carb and how you definitely shouldn’t have sex, because you will get pregnant and die. Just don’t do it, ok, promise?
To celebrate 15 years of hilarity, The Mint Lounge is hosting a run of special subtitled Mean Girls screenings where you can shout out quotes to your heart’s content.
Tickets for the screenings include free-flowing drinks and bottomless popcorn throughout, plus private tables with waiter service so you don’t have to miss a single word.
It’s happening on September 7th, with several different screenings running across the day. It’s just a shame it’s not on a Wednesday, or we’d be wearing pink.
Tickets will set you back £27.50 – but don’t forget that includes as much wine, beer and/or spirit mixers as you like.
If you’ve ever felt personally victimised by Regina George, this one’s for you. But you can’t sit with us.
