20 Stories is saying no to Dry January in favour of something much better. Yes, we’re talking Ginuary.

A relatively new phenomenon, Ginuary was never really a thing. But in our humble opinion it’s so much better than a dry month that we’re more than happy to get behind it.

It’s celebrating the juniper-laced spirit next week with a tasting of its three favourite Manchester gins: Manchester Three Rivers, Didsbury Gin, and Manchester Gin.

Enjoy a Manchester Three Rivers gin cocktail on arrival, followed by three neat tastings of each gin before finishing with a bespoke G&T of your choice. You can make this yourself at their interactive G&T station, choosing from a selection of Fever Tree tonics as well as picking your own garnishes.

As well as tasting plenty of gin, you can expect to get a bit of face time with the people behind the brands and an opportunity to put questions to the distillers and hear them talk about their products.

So if you’d like to know how Manchester Three Rivers Master Distiller Dave Rigby hand-built Manchester’s first city centre distillery, or what inspired Jennie Wiggins and Seb Heeley – the couple behind Manchester Gin – to start distilling gin out of their Chorlton home, this is your chance to find out.

It takes place on Tuesday 15th January at 6pm, tickets are priced at £30 per person and include 5 drinks plus accompanying nibbles including olives, dips and croutes, olive tapenade and roasted red pepper dip created by 20 Stories’ chefs to stop you getting too merry. This is a respectable affair, after all.
