It’s the most wonderful (and painful) time of the year. There are few things more magical than skating under the stars so we’re delighted that Manchester Ice Rink, one of the city’s most popular Christmas attractions, is back next month for the eighth year running.

Its temporary home this year is New Bailey, just a pirouette, spin and axel jump away from Spinningfields, where you will be invited to lace up your boots from Thursday, November 12th until Sunday, January 3rd.

New Bailey is part of a 12 year, £650m Salford Central Regeneration Scheme which covers over 50 hectares of land in the city and is due for completion in 2018.

The ice rink will be part of a festive hub of activity with fairground rides, festive choristers, DJs, themed sessions and family entertainment all taking place over the winter period. Junior skaters or wobbly adults can buddy up with Penguin Skating Supports, whilst the helpful staff on the rink make the experience easy, safe and super-fun!

Open to the public seven days a week from 10.00am until 9pm at weekends and 3.00pm until 9pm Monday – Friday, the rink will also provide a viewing platform for those who would rather spectate than skate.

And if you’re feeling a bit peckish after all that exercise, there is a selection of bars, cafes and restaurants in the local neighbourhood, and a steady stream of mulled wine to put people in the festive mood!

Tickets start at £9.00 for adults, with discounts for student nights and family tickets. There is also parking available on site at the NCP car park.
