As December 25th is fast approaching and Santa’s elves are working around the clock to make sure all you well behaved boys and girls get everything you want this Christmas – there’s another very important date on the horizon.

And unless you want to spend it sat around your grandma’s house arguing over who’s been cheating at Monopoly or who gets the last After Eight – here’s a list of our top shenanigans happening around town this New Year’s Eve.

So whether you’re planning on spending it with mates – or there’s someone special you want to kiss as the clock strikes 12, here’s everything you need to know to make the most of Manchester’s NYE celebrations.

Banyan at the Corn Exchange

Experience New Year’s Eve in true Banyan style. You are invited to join Banyan for a gorgeous evening at the Corn Exchange and enjoy a 2 course steak dinner and a glass of Moët & Chandon Champagne.

We can’t think of a better way to see off 2022 and bring in the new year than with a delicious meal surrounded by your family and friends.

Escape to Freight Island

Escape to Freight Island have a huge night planned. The venue will be transformed into Escape to Freight Island’s very own Revue – a homage to and celebration of soul, funk, disco, house and everything in-between.

The Revue will feature a mind-blowing cast of talent, including a live band curated by Jenna G, P-Ro Jones and the crème de la crème from The Untold Orchestra Cabaret with performances from the world of dance, drag, circus and vogue to complete the night.  On the decks across the night are local legends DJ Mix-Stress, Moodymanc and Will Tramp.

Outside in the Plantroom revellers can enjoy GIRLS ON FILM.

The Popular Girls on Film will take over The Plantroom to celebrate 80s, 90s, 00s Pop-Culture and take you through to the midnight hour. Expect Go Go Dancers, Disco Balls and sing along, let your hair down party anthems all night long.

Sonara Piano & Cabaret Lounge

You are invited to join New Year’s Eve celebrations with canapés and live music from 9pm – 2am with two incredible acts: New Orleans blues from The Nightcreatures and high-energy swing from The Gelatos!

Tickets are just £40 and are strictly limited to table seating only, ensuring you have a comfortable, relaxed and special night with their signature Sonata table service.

Bridgewater Hall

Bridgewater Hall are hosting a back to the 70s event!

Join The Bridgewater Hall Love Unlimited Orchestra and featured artists, as they take the R&B soul train to a boogie wonderland, disco inferno and beyond!

The Hall will be bumping with some of the most iconic 70s grooves from the disco decade. End the year in style and move on up into 2023!

Hard Rock Cafe

Party like a rock star and celebrate New Year’s Eve in style. Surrounded by Hard Rock Cafe’s iconic memorabilia, enjoy amazing cocktails, legendary food, festive vibes and live music.

They are also offering an exclusive New Year’s Eve Festive Menu, which you can check out here.

Live Music will be provided by the brilliant Vibealicious.

Tattu

Celebrate the most indulgent time of year at Tattu and experience The Great Snow this New Years Eve. 

Step into an enchanted winter scene as snowfall dusts the landscape and  iconic cherry blossom trees turn icy blue, adorned with frost they shimmer and sparkle as you dine.

Be fully immersed by the Northern Lights as you celebrate with loved ones, with their wall art coming to life with a dazzling show of The Aurora Borealis.

Tattu are hosting a lunch from 12pm to 4pm, with dinner available from 5pm.

Tattu said: “Join us in a toast to new beginnings. New Year’s Eve at Tattu is a multi-sensory event not to be missed. Enjoy an expertly curated 3-wave sharing menu and savour exquisite dishes paired with half a bottle of  NV La Cuvée Brut Laurent-Perrier per person for an epic finish to the year. Our resident DJ will play from 7pm.”

The Blues Kitchen

See in the New Year Blues Kitchen style with cocktails, beers & bourbon.

The legendary Blues Kitchen house band hit the stage for three live sets of classic soul and funk with DJs playing timeless dance floor grooves until 3am.

You can book evening dining tables from 9pm onwards.  Dining tickets are £40 per person (food & drinks not included with ticket). If you book a table for dinner from 9pm, you’ll be able to keep your table for the whole night.

STERLING at the Stock Exchange

STERLING is a luxurious bar located underneath the historic Stock Exchange Hotel. You can expect live music, vintage spirits, rare wine and elegant cocktails all served alongside bar snacks from Lush by Tom Kerridge.

They are throwing a party this New Years Eve, with tickets priced at £30 per person for a set menu which includes a glass of Champagne.

For an additional £45 per person they can offer the following STERLING High Sea food menu, a beautiful selection of seafood, including:

  • Carlingford Oyster and Martini Granita
  • Native Prawn and Mary Rose
  • Brown Butter Béarnaise Lobster Roll with Frites
  • Eton Mess, Lemon Cheesecake, Black Forest Gateau Bon Bons

Manchester 235

With everything under one roof, what better place to start your 2023?!

Enjoy an exquisite 3 or 5 course meal in their James Martin Restaurant, or if a night on the dance floor is more your thing, The Vendettas are bringing the best in party tunes from 8pm followed by a DJ to keep you moving until the early hours.

The Lowry Hotel

On New Years Eve, you can indulge in The Lowry Hotel’s luxurious 6 course taster menu.

Why not kick off New Years with all the joy and sparkle you need to make the dawn in style!

Join them in the River Restaurant from 18:00-01:00 (last seating 21:00).

You can book a table for the duration of the evening, to celebrate the end of 2022 in true five-star style. There are two options for dinner. Number 1: 6 course taster menu £120pp or you can take option 2: 6 course taster menu with wine paring £185pp

New Century Hall

New Century Hall are hosting a homoelectric New Years Eve at their newly opened hall.

After years hiding in plain sight, the rebirth of New Century brings a piece of Manchester’s musical heritage back to life for a new generation. Within its stunning mid century modern architecture, New Century creates a new social hub and platform for creative talent across 3 floors.

It has hosted some very iconic gigs including Jimi Hendrix, The Stones, late night acid house parties from the 80’s and still talked about LCD Sound System / Despacio gig in 2013.

They are now hosting a very special Homoelectric on New Years Eve – something completely different from their normal dark basement back street affair.

Menagerie

As we say au Revoir 2022, Menagerie have invited you to celebrate the start of 2023 in style!

This New Years’ Eve they are inviting you to be shimmering beautiful as you ring in the the New Year at their Glitterball.

In true Menagerie Style experience theatrical dance, live fire performances and show stopping aerial acts, live DJ sets, a deluxe menu and sparkles at midnight to ring in the new year in spectacular fashion.

Celebrations begin at 7 pm.
