lululemon in the Royal Exchange is offering FREE yoga classes every Sunday – no strings attached

If you love getting stretchy and realigning your chakras, you’ll be happy to hear you can now get your fix for free at lululemon every Sunday.

Newly arrived in Manchester, the hugely popular Canadian technical apparel brand has opened a shiny new store in The Royal Exchange Manchester on St Ann’s Square – complete with a chic, modern fitness studio in the back featuring an inspirational mural by local artist Qubek.

Inspirational mural by local artist Quebek in Lululemon’s purpose-built fitness studio reads “Replace the word try with will and watch the magic happen”.

It joins other new additions to the blossoming Royal Exchange – such as funky footwear brand Irregular Choice and Manchester’s first free-from cafe, 3Squared Cafe – making The Royal Exchange a must-visit destination for savvy shoppers.

Since opening, lululemon has created quite a stir amongst Manchester’s yogis by offering free, drop-in classes in the store every Sunday morning.

Available on a first-come-first-mat basis, these free sessions are led by lululemon’s local fitness ambassadors – with a different leader and focal point on hand to aid your development every week.

Yoga has so many benefits – from increasing flexibility and improving posture to relieving stress, anxiety, and even chronic pain, the practice offers mental relief as well as a physical work out.

The Sunday classes have already drawn huge crowds, with keen yogis queuing up in St Ann’s Square from 9.30am to secure their place in the studio. And whilst there is no pressure to purchase, we can’t guarantee you won’t be tempted by what they’ve got in store.

Founded in Vancouver in 1998, the brand has gained global recognition over the past two decades for creating functional athletic apparel for yogis, runners and a host of other sweaty pursuits.

Popular with celebrities including Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Hilary Duff, lululemon is well-loved the world over for its sleek, understated aesthetic and comfort-first design focus.

They might be at the higher end of your leggings budget, but in an age where finding the right pair of workout leggings is becoming almost as elusive as the perfect pair of jeans, there’s definitely a growing appetite for Lululemon’s high-end activewear – both inside the studio and out.

Alongside the free Sunday morning sessions, the fitness studio hosts further paid fitness classes in the week with esteemed local Manchester teachers.

The free yoga classes take place every Sunday morning at 10am, but you are advised to arrive for 9.30am to secure a mat as spaces are limited.
