Award-winning restaurant Don Giovanni is the oldest independently-owned Italian in Manchester, established in 1984. Proudly serving fresh, high-quality authentic Italian meals to the people of Manchester for over thirty years.
Located on Oxford Street adjacent to St Peter’s Square tram stop in the heart of Manchester city centre.
In the late 1800’s thousands of Italians made new homes amongst the mills and factories in the run down area of Manchester city centre. Don Giovanni was created by the families of those inhabitants over thirty years ago and became the pioneers of modern day Italian food: introducing generations of Mancunians to real Italian cuisine.
Fast forward three decades and they are here still with a string of awards under our belt, plus a new selection of Michelin star dishes from celebrity Italian-French chef Jean Christophe Novelli available.
Don Giovanni integrate traditional Italian culture into every dish they create, making all of their own pizza, bread, ravioli and desserts freshly in house.
Based on a very simple principle. All dishes are prepared using the freshest seasonal ingredients, sourced locally from Italian and British producers based within Greater Manchester. Their head chef regularly scours the local markets for new ingredients and inspirations for our often-changing A La Carte menu.
Don Giovanni offer a dedicated vegan menu. The restaurant has been a staple on Manchester’s food scene for over 30 years. And let’s face it, Italian cuisine is known for its meats and cheeses, with eggs and cream playing a big part in many of these dishes.
Changing with the times, Don’s has recognised the serious lack of restaurant quality vegan food in town.
The Vegano menu is their response. Clearly a lot of time and effort went into creating this completely vegan menu, which means hungry vegans who enjoy dining out are in for a massive treat.
It features five starters and seven mains, so anyone looking to eat vegan has a good selection of dishes to choose from rather than the standard one vegan salad you often seen on restaurant menus.
In true Italian style menus are designed to showcase freshness and quality first and foremost. All food is cooked fresh to order in the open plan kitchen and a recently installed a marble dessert and pasta section in the front window where you can see your food being created by real Italian chefs.
