Manchester loves beer. That’s established. But not content being home to some of the best micro-breweries and bars around, the Independent Manchester Beer Convention has put Manchester well and truly on the map as a mecca for craft beer.
Set in the stunning Victoria Baths, Indy Man is a beer fest like no other. Doing away with stereotypes like the stuffy room full of old blokes drinking cask beer, IMBC is home to exotic and unique keg beers from the UK and beyond.
The super strong beer line-up is also joined by a selection of awesome food traders such as Almost Famous, Honest Crust, Blawd, Idle Hands, Holy Crab and many more. There’s also a taste of things to come from Bundobust who have started working on their Manchester site.

Let’s talk breweries. This year’s partners alone would provide enough good beer to satisfy the most demanding beer lover. The likes of Beaverton, Siren, Foupure, Cloudwater, Wild Beer, Northern Monk and more make for salivating reading. And it’s good to see out of town Manchester breweries like Thirst Class Ale make it on the list, joining favourites like Stockport’s Quantum.
Indy Man has introduced some changes this year. One that’s caused some discussion is the fact that all beer is the same price – one token for one beer, regardless of strength/style. The upshot is that each token equates to £2.27, making it damn good value for money and in theory, better for anyone wanting to try as many different beers as possible.
Oh shiiiiiiiiit it’s happening. I spy with my little eye something beginning with @MagicRockBrewCo pic.twitter.com/79vTo5aFJ4
