Popular Manchester sweet treat brand Gooey is opening a new neighbourhood bakery and café in the site of the former Cat Cafe site in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

Gooey’s new High Street home will boast a huge counter full of freshly baked pastries, donuts, baked goods and their legendary cookies. What’s more, the new Gooey site will serve their take on brunch for the first time; think bacon butties on Shokupan bread, whipped avo on toast, and sides including halloumi with a chilli jam.

They will also introduce an incredible show-stopping Gooey French Toast stuffed with dulce de leche and maple syrup, topped with a slab of French salted butter. Everything will be made in house from scratch using the best available ingredients.

Customers can expect to see Gooey’s largest bakery selection yet as they’ll be offering freshly baked croissants, cruffins and pastries alongside their insta-famous warm, gooey cookies and sugar-coated stuffed brioche donuts. Along with their classic bakes, there’ll also be seasonal specials and definite crowd-pleasers.

The 25-cover café will offer juices along with Dead Good Coffee or the best brew in town – no-frills Yorkshire Tea to drink in or take out. Dine-in customers will get a front row seat to the baking action as the open kitchen will be home to the production of all things Gooey; from the proofing to the filling, the rolling to the decorating.

Alongside the counter offering, the new Gooey café will also offer new lunch dishes, each with their own Gooey touch, including a stack of three house-made golden hash browns made with perfectly seasoned crispy squares of Koffman’s Potatoes.

Tucked just off High Street on the open square, Gooey’s new dog-friendly neighbourhood bakery and café brings a West Coast vibe with Northern Quarter charm. Anyone walking past won’t be able to resist the scents of the bakery from freshly baked bread to sweet scented vanilla, cinnamon and melting chocolate.

Gooey opens on Friday 26th August will open daily from 9am-6pm.

The Gooey Kiosk at Ducie Street Warehouse will remain open from Wednesday-Sunday for the usual Gooey cookies, donuts and buns by the box for takeaway/collection.
