After the success of 2014’s winter run at the Great Northern Warehouse, FridayFood Fight is back for good, with a permanent Friday night food rave that will run every Friday of 2015.

“…every Friday
for the whole year…”

The first event will open its doors on Friday 23 January from 5.30pm until 11pm. Each Friday night event will host a different line-up of food traders. Entry will always be free.

Friday Food Fight will be offering a mix of hand-picked street food traders, quirky restaurant pop-ups and a fully stocked bar specialising in cocktails, craft beer and cider. To get punters’ toes tapping, each night will be curated with Manchester’s finest DJs.

To up the ante for 2015, Friday Food Fight will be hosting visits from chefs, movie nights, masterclasses, epic food challenges in a specially built challenge ring and other surprises, which will be leaked to social media followers.

The weekly food rave, which combines food, drink and DJs in a way never been seen before in the city, will continue to inhabit it’s home above Lucha Libre and All Star Lanes at the Grade II listed Great Northern Warehouse, with its unique vaulted ceilings and exposed brickwork.

Chris Legh, event curator says: “2014’s Friday Food Fight was a fantastic experience. Moving into the Great Northern gave us the scope to scale up the numbers of traders we could bring together to offer a great variety of truly good food to our customers.

“To be able to come back every Friday for the whole year, means we can dedicate more resources to making Friday Food Fight even more memorable and special for everyone who visits. Plus the space is very flexible and will allow us to grow and develop the night. 2015 is going to be fun!”

As well as two successful runs of events, Up in Your Grill and Food Fight, 2014 saw organisers BEAT STREET awarded with the Best Food and Drink Pop-Up prize at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival. Regular Food Fight trader (who will be returning to trade in 2015) Viet Shack, also took home the award for Cheap Eats of the Year.

Curator of Friday Food Fight, BEAT STREET, has taken over the space at the Great Northern Warehouse full time and the venue is available to hire. The venue can hold up to 1,000 people, but is flexible enough to be used for a minimum of 50. The space has access to food prep, catered events, fully licensed bar, toilets, VIP terrace and a DJ system.
