Escape to Freight Island will reopen on this weekend with a big opening party celebrating all things Manchester, from music to arts, plus food and drinks.
On Friday 28th January, Manchester’s most energetic art event, Art Battle, will take over the venue – where 10 talented local artists go head-to-head in a live paint off and customers get to decide the winner.
These paintings will be auctioned off on the day, where all proceeds go directly to the venue’s charity partner Eat Well MCR. Any remaining paintings not sold on the day will be displayed and available to purchase on Sunday 30th January at the pop-up market.
Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th January will host Manchester DJs The Unabombers, Supernature Disco, Dave Haslam, DJ Paulette, Clint Boon and more.
And throughout the opening weekend, Escape to Freight will present special menu additions such as Manchester Tart from Choo Choo and Manchester Vimto Cocktail.
To celebrate the reopening, those who booked in over the weekend (Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th January) will be in with a chance of winning Escape to Freight Island’s exclusive black card, which will reward the winner with free food and drink for a year with a total tab of £500 every month.
Further entertainment lined up for February and March include a series of ticketed and free events, including live bands every Wednesday from the likes of The Untold Orchestra, Mali Hayes, Tom Seals and more.
Then from Saturday 5th February until Saturday 19th March, Escape to Freight Island will present the Guinness Six Nations Championship, with the biggest collaboration with Guinness in the UK outside of London.
A dedicated space within the venue will be transformed for rugby lovers to stay, watch the game, and enjoy a fresh pint of Guinness with Escape to Freight Island’s finest food offers from Patty Queen and Voodoo Ray’s.
Escape to Freight Island reopens on Friday 28th January 2022. Opening hours are Wednesday and Thursday (4pm to 11pm), Friday (12pm to 12am), Saturday (12pm to 1am), Sunday (12pm to 8pm).
