Thanks to the generous donations from local businesses and individuals, Forever Manchester will once again be giving away £40,000 to communities across Greater Manchester who wish to hold a Christmas event in their neighbourhood over the festive season.

During the month of December, the Christmas Get Togethers aim to encourage people in communities to get together to create those special moments… where people of all ages, all interests and every walk of life have the opportunity to enjoy each other’s company, to share experiences and to try something new.

The inspiring short video (above) explains the importance of these Get Togethers. Voice-over by Tony Walsh.

Forever Manchester is the only charity that raises money to fund and support community activity across Greater Manchester. They believe that connected communities make stronger, happier communities, so they love any activity that brings people together.

Since 2017, Forever Manchester has provided £100,000 to support 500 Summer and Christmas Get Togethers. Last year, Forever Manchester was able to provide funding for a wide range of events and activities including; Christmas parties for older people, community carol services around a Christmas tree, festive celebrations for young people, Christmas card making for families, Christmas music jam for students and local groups, Veterans Christmas lunch, feasting, singing and dancing with neighbours and of course lots of opportunities to meet Santa.

Forever Manchester is all about…

  • Putting smiles on the faces of our local communities.
  • Supporting local people transforming the lives of others.
  • Bringing local people together to create something special.
  • Caring about those people who care enough to act.
  • Championing local people doing extraordinary things together.
