Women of Hip Hop: Akua Naru, OneDa & DJ Lashimba

The Blues Kitchen are teaming up with HERchester to showcase the best contemporary hip-hop around the globe, with an exclusive all-female line up.

HERchester is a women and non-binary initiative for MCs and spoken word artists across the North of England. They strive towards building a community and space for females in Hip Hop, at every stage of their career.

With an exclusive all-female line up, Queen of the underground Akua Naru will be headlining the anticipated event. Known for her classic boom-bap style and socially conscious rhymes, Akua has been paving the way for female artists across the globe for over 15 years.

A very special performance from a HERchester member will also be revealed on the night – expect the best of North’s emerging female Hip Hop talent.

Completing the unmissable lineup is DJ Lashimba, one half of the dynamic SHIMRISE DJ duo, bringing the vibes and the best records, new and old.
