The Last Word

26 May @ 13:00 - 14:30

The last word - carlton club

Non-binary playwright Eleanor Webster explores the grief before grief in an interactive 1-person picnic play.

Join Ellie in an interactive performance with red wine and very poor bedside manner as they rehearse every potential “final” conversation they could have with their grandfather. If you like Friday nights in the pub, poetry readings, and family Christmas dinners, this is the show for you. Audiences will leave feeling a bit weepy, wanting to explore their family’s attic, and call their grandparents (if they’re still alive) as Ellie asks: how much can you really avoid grief before it happens?

Following a sold out performance at Chorlton Arts Festival last year, The Last Word returns to Pride on the Range for an outdoor showing as part of the weekends festivities.

Please note this is an outdoor performance and the seating will primarily be on picnic blankets. Please feel free to bring your own!

Although there is no explicit content, the topics discussed are not suitable for young audiences. Age rating 12+
