The Accountants

4 May - 11 May

From £15
accountants factory international

The cultural superpowers of China and India go head-to-head in this surreal stage spectacle from artist Keith Khan, choreographed by Xie Xin and Terence Lewis.

China and India. What do you think you know about them? From Shanghai to Mumbai, superstar choreographers Xie Xin and Terence Lewis come together for a high-tech dance battle in Keith Khan’s The Accountants.

The two cultural power houses are put playfully to the test – with dancers either competing or collaborating as a huge screen spurts out data behind them. Raising questions about our desire to always assess, compare and quantify the world around us, The Accountants sifts through the data to explode stereotypes and create meaningful connections.

Experience state-of-the-art visuals alongside stunning dance choreographed by Shanghai-based Xie Xin and Mumbai-based Terence Lewis. Incorporating interactive elements, a dynamic soundtrack by Somin Griffin-Dave and the day-to-day tech and tools of the diaspora – think voice notes from your aunty and plenty of emojis – The Accountants is a rich and playful visual spectacle.

This brand-new show for Factory International is created by Keith Khan, a multi-disciplinary artist known for his cultural work from Notting Hill Carnival to the London 2012 Olympic Games. Terence Lewis is well-known as a judge on Dance India Dance and India’s Best Dancer, while Xie Xin is one of the most prominent figures in contemporary dance in China.

Rivalry, love and the power of connection. The Accountants is an age-old story like you’ve never seen before.
