Inspired by this year’s theme, The Future is Green, the story of this opera is a familiar one to Mancunians
Working with the eminent composer and conductor Kate Pearson and celebrated director Jonathan Ainscough, our Community Chorus have written a brand-new opera to perform alongside our students. We’ll also be joined by local community organisations, including The Circus House, Sing it! Youth Choir, Chorus of Others, Holy Name Primary School and St Philip’s Primary School.
A beloved local green space, Silverwood, is under threat from developers, and the community must fight back to save it.
Filled with twists and turns and a touch of magic (it is opera after all!), this epic adventure navigates the highs and lows of defending our natural and communal treasures. Through sweeping melodies and captivating scenes, we’re reminded of the power of standing together for the environment we cherish.
Join us for a magical journey that not only entertains but inspires action for a greener future.
The RNCM Community Chorus is an open access choir that welcomes adults of all backgrounds and abilities. The choir meets on a weekly basis singing a range of music across an exciting calendar of projects. If you’d like to learn or are interested in joining, please contact: [email protected]
