Rabbi Danny Bergson: Music For The Soul

10 November @ 19:00 - 20:00

From £14
danny bergson jewish museum

Join Rabbi Danny Bergson for an evening of music and soul – explore synagogue music as well as Jewish folk songs and the moving Hassidic melodies.

Jewish music can reflect some Jewish experiences of exile and movement of communities over many centuries. In each place, Jews were influenced by the sounds and musical motifs of their surroundings which they wove together into a tapestry of hope and faith. Rabbi Danny believes that at the core of Jewish music is a transcendent tone that connects the Jewish soul to its Divine source beyond this world .

Rabbi Danny Bergson is a communal rabbi in St Anne’s synagogue. Previously he was rabbi in Glasgow and London. He is a trained singer and guitarist and is passionate about inspiring audiences through music. His favourite saying is “if words are the pen of the mind then music is the quill of soul!”

So join us and explore synagogue music as well as Jewish folk songs and the moving sounds of Hassidic music!
