Pride in Trafford

15 May - 18 May

Pride in trafford

Pride in Trafford is back in May to celebrate queer arts and creativity.

15th to 18th May 2024 – BOOK NOW

There’s some familiar events such as the Official Festival Launch, Laugh Riot and Mini Pride, and some brilliant new additions, such as the Queer Creatives Assembly and the Block Party: A celebration of inclusivity and unity, with headline artists from The Cocoa Butter Club and Family Catwalk Extravaganza.

15th May – Official Festival Launch: To mark International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, and the opening of the Pride in Trafford 2024 festivities, join us for speeches and song as we raise the Pride Flag at Sale Town Hall with the Chief Executive of Trafford Council.

15th May – Youth Pride: Gorse Hill Studios and Rainbow Reflections will facilitate creative activities with focus on youth voice, engaging in discussions, expressing themselves through various art forms which young people have created.  Young people will be able to celebrate, connect and create with lots of like-minded individuals in a safe, fun and welcoming space.

15th May – The Queer Creatives Assembly: A chance to connect, collaborate, and celebrate with LGBTQ+ creatives from Greater Manchester at this brand-new gathering.

Whether you’re an artist, writer, theatre-maker, designer, or anyone with a passion for creativity, you’ll be welcomed in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere. Expect vibrant conversations, meaningful connections, and a chance to network and hear from Queer artists and creatives supported through Creative Industries Trafford.

15th May – Making Waves – A Celebration of New Queer Work: An opportunity to watch four brand new works by LGBTQ+ artists in Greater Manchester in partnership with Greater Manchester LGBTQ+ Arts & Culture Network, delivered by LGBT Foundation.

Susan Kerr’s We See Each Other Better with Our Eyes Closed explores being an older Black lesbian in the queer community and love in all its messy complexity. Trans artist and Drag King Hunter Millington explores themes of dysphoria, joy and discovering your authentic self in their new campy country musical for trans equality. Expect live piano, drag excellence and Special Effects in Violet Blonde’s one woman show Special Effects and Bennettiscoming’s emotive music is glued together with his sultry tones and soul-baring lyrics in his new show Late Bloomer: The Pride Performance.
