Actors Shona and Christian have just started working together on a true crime docudrama. Christian plays a cruel abuser-turned-killer. Shona plays his survivor.
As filming progresses, their feelings for each other grow – along with fear, self-doubt, frustration and a creeping sense of danger.
On Me focuses on the challenges of being a role model, ally, spontaneous romantic and potential victim all at once when chasing love in the post #MeToo era.
Dangerous To Know’s highly successful production of the play on the 2022 Greater Manchester Fringe achieved an Off West End “OFFfest” award, as well as being shortlisted for the Fringe’s award for Best Drama and the Write for the Stage prize for New Writing.
**Event and post-show panel discussion**
The evening will start with the play itself, which will run for around one hour. There will then be a short break, after which Dangerous To Know will host a half-hour panel discussion featuring members of the creative team including writer Caroline Lamb, frontline workers from local charities and criminology academics Professor David Gadd and Dr Caroline Miles of the University of Manchester – both of whom consulted on the GMCA ‘s Gender-Based Violence Strategy.
Representatives of the Trafford Domestic Abuse Service and Trafford Rape Crisis will be present throughout to support audience members who may be affected by the themes of the play. Attendees will have an opportunity to donate to these two vital initiatives when booking and on the night.
