Manchester Mid-day Concerts Society continues
Sofiia Matviienko, a remarkable flutist, was born in the picturesque town of Pereshchepino in central Ukraine. Her journey in the world of music began at a young age when a doctor discovered her speech problems and recommended playing the recorder as a therapeutic measure.
At 14, having transferred to the classical flute, Sofiia performed her first solo concert in Italy, capturing the hearts of the audience and commemorating the event with a CD release. Since then, she has achieved numerous victories in competitions and graced the stages of international festivals in Argentina, the United States, Germany, Ukraine, Italy, Bosnia, the United Kingdom, and many other countries.
