Having gathered a cult following around art rock tracks like Johnny Yen in the 80s, James broke through to mainstream success with their major label debut Gold Mother (1990). Fast forward and James have sustained an impressive catalogue of work, celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2023 with orchestral reworkings on the album Be Opened By The Wonderful.
In 2024, James released their chart-topping 18th album Yummy, which spans politics, AI and conspiracy theories, and documents the creative process of a band who continues to evolve and defy expectations.
Performing at the Acropolis was a special moment for the band, who were joined by a 22-member symphony orchestra and a gospel choir for a journey down their entire music history. Don’t miss the chance to see the world premiere of a once-in-a-lifetime performance and hear from Tim Booth and Jim Glennie about their time in the band.
