Join us for a cosy autumnal baking and bookmark-making workshop, inspired by Sukkot! All ages welcome.
In this session, we will be exploring stories from our collection connected to the Jewish holiday, Sukkot, which took place at the beginning of this month. During Sukkot, many Jewish families eat dishes that include stuffed foods, often with vegetables and pastry, to symbolise the bounty of the harvest. Inspired by Jewish recipes found within our archive, we will create baked apples filled with Autumnal ingredients: oats, cinnamon, honey and raisins!
As our apples bake, you’ll also get to try your hand at weaving! Make a small bookmark, ready to nestle down with your favourite read this coming winter.
This workshop is open to anyone of any age: adults, families and children. You will get to take home everything you make!
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
This workshop is open to all age groups. All children must be supervised by an adult.
Tickets to this workshop do not include General Admission to the museum. General Admission tickets can be booked separately online or at the welcome desk on the day of the workshop.
The recipe contains fruit, honey, butter and spices such as cinnamon. If you want to omit some of these ingredients, this will be possible. All ingredients used in the workshop are vegetarian and kosher approved, but the food is not Beth Din supervised.
Please book onto either the 11am or 12.30pm workshop. Workshops last 1 hour. You will get to take home what you have created during the session and discover more about stories connected to the museum collection.
