Don’t miss a new flamenco experience at the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester with guitarist Paco Javier Jimeno!
The Instituto Cervantes Manchester host the show “Flamenco a tres”, where the guitarist Paco Javier Jimeno will showcase his virtuosity, accompanied on stage by two unique artists from Malaga, the cantaora [flamenco singer] Ana Fargas and the bailaora [flamenco dancer] Carmen González, who will bring great personality and a female touch to the performance.
“Flamenco a tres” is a flamenco experience that ranges from flamenco guitar, where Paco Javier Jimeno will perform pieces from his album “En tiempo y forma” along with compositions from his new studio work, to the “a tres” accompaniment that will bring a dynamic show to enjoy the style and unique imprint of experiencing flamenco from these three Malaga artists.
Praise for Paco Javier Jimeno is abundant because, despite his youth, he boasts an impressive track record that very few can claim. He is one of the most awarded flamenco guitarists of today. His trophy case includes the most important awards that recognize the best: the “El Madroñero” Prize in Montellano (Seville), First Prize in the II Contest of Young Flamenco Performers of the Flamenco Biennial (Seville), International Flamenco Guitar First Prize in Nimes (France), “Manolo de Huelva” Prize from the XIV National Competition of Cordoba, and the “Bordón Minero” Prize from the XXXV National Festival of Cante de las Minas.
His early creations appear on the CD “A la guitarra Estepona” (1994), where we find two original pieces: “Mar de Levante” and “Mi guitarra.” Whether alone on the stage or in the company of singing or dancing, he is a spectacular guitarist with a refined and exquisite technique that he puts at his own service and that of the artists he accompanies. He has grown significantly as a musician and is achieving unique forms based on expression and his emotionally charged transmission capacity. These qualities make him an artist with a distinct personality, as he has consolidated a flamenco aesthetic that sets him apart from others by drawing from the best sources.
