DMLab North West: The Next Frontier in Music-Making Accessibility

A groundbreaking event exploring the future of inclusive music-making, at the School of Digital Arts (SODA) in Manchester.

DMLab North West are delighted to present a FREE and innovative event, “The Next Frontier in Accessibility,” addressing access requirements in music-making for all. This groundbreaking event, available both in-person at Manchester Metropolitan University’s School of Digital Arts (SODA) and via live stream, offers an immersive journey into accessible music creation.

We will will hear inspiring talks featuring key figures from Roland, Focusrite, Ableton, Softube, and Audio Modeling, exploring accessibility and inclusion. Discussions will also include a new prototype device designed specifically for a Disabled guitarist, with live demonstrations. Our host and producer, Jason Dasent, will provide a comprehensive live music production session as he showcases real-time techniques, whilst cutting-edge technology demos will also unveil revolutionary products that have enhanced accessibility in music production over recent years.

The event caters to Disabled and non-disabled musicians, music producers, technologists, makers, and those interested in accessible music creation. Accessibility features include BSL interpretation, live captioning, quiet spaces, wheelchair accessibility and accessible toilet facilities, including a Changing Places facility.

This event promises to be an inclusive and enlightening experience for all, pushing the boundaries of accessible music-making!
