Creative Workshop: Time Capsule Patchwork

Join us for this fun, family-friendly workshop and help us create a patchwork piece to go inside our 2024 time capsule!

In this session we’ll be creating small textile squares using collage, embroidery, and drawing. Taking inspiration from the stories in our collection and the Jewish community that set up our historic synagogue, your designs will express the places and things you love about our museum and Cheetham Hill & Crumpsall.

2024 marks the 150th anniversary of our synagogue and as part of the celebrations we will be creating a time capsule to commemorate the stories of our local community and the people who are part of our museum.

Your creations will be stitched together to form a collaborative textile patchwork piece to go into our time capsule and become a piece of our museum’s history!

So join us for this session to get in touch with your creative side and express what means most to you about the museum.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

• This workshop is open to anyone of any age: adults, families and children.
• This is a drop in session but spaces are limited so please book a spot to ensure you are able to join. You can arrive anytime between 12:30pm and 2:30pm.
• Please note that we will be collecting your fabric squares at the end of the session in order to create our large collaborative piece so you will not take them home with you.
