A celebration of classic vehicles, vintage and designer second-hand fashion and homewares, street food and bars served from classic buses, vans and trucks all set to vinyl spinning DJs
The Classic Car Boot Sale is a one-of-a-kind event which assembles the finest sustainable fashion, accessories and homewares traders from across the UK and gathers them all in one location to trade out of or next to some of the most magnificent classic vehicles in the country for one weekend only. It’s set to return to MediaCity after tremendous success in its first northern edition in 2024, which brought thousands of vintage lovers together.
The event is a celebration of nostalgia, style, and sustainability, where classic cars, vintage and secondhand fashion, and a diverse music lineup come together. Building on last year’s triumph, this year, event organisers are promising to offer something extra for the ‘90s music fans in town, while also keeping the spread varied so there is something for everyone, no matter the age and interests.
There will also be an array of independent street food served from vintage vans, alongside the unmissable Bus Bar, delivering non-stop tunes spanning Rock ‘n’ Roll, Indie, Reggae, Balearic, and everything in between—with a special nod to the ‘90s, as Manchester gears up for a nostalgia filled weekend with Oasis returning to the city.
Highlights from last year’s epic celebration included a spectacular entrance with a record number of scooters riding in from The Salford Knights SC, a special display of Mustangs from the Northwestags Car Club to mark the anniversary of the iconic Ford brand, and the event was also joined by Pete Marshall, the drummer with Paul Heaton’s The Housemartins and The Beautiful Soul, who brought his rare Lada along.
This year, visitors can expect a stunning display of classic cars, ride-ups from scooter and motorcycle clubs, and beautifully restored classic bicycles. The line-up will include a 1955 Chevrolet Belair, a 1935 American Ford and a 1952 VW Campervan to name a few, plus other award-winning cars still to be added.
The weekend promises to be the ultimate vintage shopping experience, with the unmissable Charity Super.Mkt returning to MediaCity this year bigger than better than ever. Visitors can snap up vintage gems and retro 90s and Y2K pieces while supporting four fantastic charities including Together Trust, RSPCA, British Heart Foundation and Emmaus. New for this year is the Best in Show Catwalk, where the best dressed attendees are picked out show off and chat about their outfits.
There will also be free dance classes throughout the weekend from Jazz Swing Dance’s Anthony Padget, giving visitors the chance to try out a range of different dance styles from throughout the decades, including 40s Swing, 50s Rock n Roll and Jive, 60s Twist and 70s Hustle and Northern Soul.
