Celebrate International Women’s Day at Red Light

7 March @ 20:00 - 8 March @ 00:00

red light IWD

Red Light, in association with Pernod is proud to be hosting a spotlight event ahead of International Women’s Day to celebrate female, queer bartenders in Manchester from some of the city’s highest acclaimed cocktail bars.

Guest bartenders include Sexy Fish’s Assistant Bar Manager and host of Bartending Instagram series ‘The Pump Room’, Cressida Lawlor, highly experienced Lucia Porcellato, who is a bartender at the multi-award winning Hawksmoor, and Gracie Goggins, competitive mixologist and resident bartender at Project Halcyon Distillery. The latter placed in this year’s UK’s top 50 bars.

The evening will be accompanied with music from DJ Daisy Hoszowskyj, as each bartender takes the spotlight for an hour in turn, serving the Red Light patrons two of their own original cocktails. Guests can expect creations inspired by women and pioneers in the queer community such as Gracie’s colourful concoction ‘Busty Ross’, an homage to the artist, designer and activist Gilbert Baker who is best known for creating the Pride flag and often used the drag name ‘Busty Ross’ alluding to Betsy Ross.

Red Light is really excited to be hosting this event dedicated to celebrating queer women in bartending and is expecting a big turnout from patrons and fellow hospitality workers alike, therefore booking is highly recommended for this event.
