A compelling series of paintings known as the Barren Lands, in which FNTSYWRLD explores themes of anxiety, losing grip on reality and debilitating mental states.
In addition to the Barren Lands series, ‘BARREN LANDS + Other Stuff’ features two other remarkable collections. ‘Time for Change’ is a series of three paintings that delves into the internal battles faced by different characters who yearn for a transformative shift in their life circumstances. Each artwork presents an opportunity for viewers to interpret and connect with the struggles and desires portrayed.
‘On The Streets’ is a series of three paintings that holds a deeper purpose. Created by FNTSYWRLD in Stevenson Square (just around the corner from Cass Art) these artworks were produced outdoors, reflecting the artist’s commitment to raising awareness and support for homelessness. The entire proceeds from the sales of the ‘On The Streets’ paintings, amounting to £6,000, will be directly donated to ‘Don’t Walk Past,’ a local organization dedicated to aiding Manchester’s homeless population.
The exhibition will open its doors to the public on 8th July 2023, running until 12th August 2023. Visitors are encouraged to explore the captivating and diverse artworks of ‘BARREN LANDS + Other Stuff’ during regular opening hours at Cass Art’s Basement Gallery.
