AO Arena has set a new benchmark in sports history, this weekend breaking the all-time attendance record for The Davis Cup tennis tournament.

In an exhilarating three-day tournament featuring some of the biggest names in international tennis, including the UK’s Jack Draper, Manchester’s premier live entertainment venue hosted fans and athletes alike, with over 37,000 sporting spectators gathering to cement this new record for the arena, and for the tournament.

Breaking records at the AO Arena

On Sunday alone, the tournament sold 15,700 tickets (that’s more than Wimbledon’s Centre Court) as the tournament drew to a breathtaking close.

Thanks to AO Arena’s brand-new £50m redevelopment which boasts state-of-the-art facilities and features for both fans and artists and athletes, everyone in attendance was able to soak up the electrifying atmosphere.

The arena provided the perfect backdrop for creating global sporting history.

“A must attend destination for sports and entertainment”

AO Arena’s new record underscores its growing reputation as a leading, must-attend and must-play destination for major sporting events and entertainment.

The milestone also highlights Manchester’s thriving cultural footprint on a truly global scale, and the city’s continued commitment to hosting high-calibre events with enormous success.

The Davis Cup is a tournament renowned for drawing significant global attention and attracting the biggest names in the sport.

AO Arena’s record-breaking attendance not only enhances Manchester’s profile on the international sporting stage but is also set to attract further prestigious events to the city.
