As Christmas approaches, it’s time to start thinking about the all important decoration questions. Are you putting up a tree? Will it be real or fake? What about a wreath to hang on the door?

If you fancy adding a more personal touch to your decorations this year, and getting crafty with it in the process, boutique hotel Great John Street is hosting an artsy wreath making session in partnership with award-winning Didsbury florist Flower Lounge.

After learning how to adorn your door with charming winter foliage, you’ll be rewarded for your handiwork with a spiced mulled wine and an indulgent festive afternoon tea.

Enjoy delicious finger sandwiches and sumptuous cakes whilst you admire your new wreath, then take it home and hang it pride of place for your envious neighbours to see. Because nothing beats a home made wreath, after all.

It takes place on Saturday, 23rd November, with three sessions at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Tickets cost £65 including foliage and wreath-making materials, afternoon tea and mulled wine.

It’s part of a series of events taking place at the stunning boutique hotel over the festive period.

Other upcoming Christmassy events include a family fun day sing-a-long with Frozen‘s very own Elsa, plus a feast of bratwursts, chip cones and waffles on the rooftop terrace. It takes place on Sunday 8th December and even features a special visit from a certain gentleman who lives at the North Pole.

Then, on Sunday 15th, Great John Street will be hosting a very special three-course lunch with none other than Santa himself.  Families are in for a festive, fun-filled afternoon as they enjoy lunch served amongst the twinkling lights of the Oyster Bar.

This will be followed by a visit to the grotto for selfies with Santa and the chance to let him know what it is you really want for Christmas this year.

Tickets for both the family events are priced at £30 for adults and £15 for children. To book, contact events organiser Lukasz on [email protected]
