It’s National Tequila Day on Wednesday 24th July. It’s also forecast to be a scorcher.

So what better way to beat the heat than with a frozen margarita cocktail? And even better, you don’t have to pay a penny.

The Cotton Factory is a newly opened residency restaurant based at Whitworth Locke on Princess Street, with Mexican food traders El Camino the first in the venue with their signature tacos and tequila food offering.

From 5pm on Wednesday 24th July, the first 100 people through the door will be able to claim a free frozen margarita, usually priced at £8, in celebration of the spirit.

El Camino was created by the team behind popular burger and BBQ joint Get Chucked in 2018.

The concept hosted its first pop-up in Urmston in early 2019, and founders Scott Power and Sean Robinson now have three venues in Greater Manchester: Get Chucked in Urmston, Get Chucked at Hatch, and El Camino at The Cotton Factory.

As well as frozen margaritas, you’ll find a range of premium tequila drinks and cocktails from brands including Patron, KAH Tequila and Cenote.

And while you’re there you can soak up the tequila with El Camino’s menu, which includes a range of snacks and tacos and a selection of big plates cooked on the charcoal grill such as rib-eye steak, pork chop and grilled sea bream.

There’s a variety of vegetarian options, too, including chipotle cauliflower taco with radish, red chilli and sweet potato puree.

“Tequila is at the heart of El Camino and what better way to celebrate something universally loved than with free frozen margaritas – especially as Manchester is enjoying this sunny weather at the moment,” said founder Scott.

100 free frozen margaritas will be available from 5pm on Wednesday 24th July at El Camino at The Cotton Factory, Whitworth Locke.
