The Wharf pub in Castlefield is loved by city dwellers and out-of-towners alike for its homely feel, south-facing beer garden and tasty home-cooked food, to name just a few reasons.
Next month, on 8th July, the beautiful canalside pub will celebrate its sixth birthday with a proper knees-up for the whole community to enjoy.
General Manager Natasha Metcalfe tells us: “We can’t believe how quickly time has gone by and that we are already celebrating our sixth year and so, to that effect, we have quite the show to put on for one and all.”
The team have an all-out bash planned for the Sunday with live music throughout the day and a roaring BBQ (weather permitting), plus a dedicated gin bar, cider bar, face painting and an array of terrace games laid on.
Performances lined up for the day include a headline appearance from 10-piece Manchester brass outfit Twisted Tubes alongside sets from acoustic trio The Myers and soul band The Soulphonics.
The pub has even arranged to have their own beer brewed for the event, which will be available to enjoy on the day.
The event isn’t ticketed and is open to all. Simply get your crew together and make your way down on Sunday 8th July from 12pm onwards for a proper knees-up.
