Love them or loathe them, Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without sprouts. And Christmas in Manchester wouldn’t be the same without Bundobust’s sprout bhajis.

Deep-fried with onion, broccoli, fennel and chilli and served up with Desi-style cranberry chutney, every year the Indian street food restaurant in Piccadilly transforms the festive veg into our favourite seasonal snack.

Available from this week, the famous sprout bhajis are also central to Bundobust’s first foray into the Christmas sandwich game.

Welcome the bhaji butty, brand new for 2019.

The new sandwich sees a sprout bhaji patty served with red onion, kachumber sambharo, cranberry chutney and green chutney in a brioche bun.

And there’s another reason to eat your greens.

With each butty sold, £1 will be heading towards local charity Mustard Tree, who help combat poverty and prevent homelessness across Greater Manchester.

As well as the famous bhajis, Bundobust’s Christmas menu includes a festive curry of winter vegetables in a warming, cinnamon and star anise-spiced tomato and coconut curry sauce.

Both the bhajis and the curry are totally vegan.

Drinks-wise, there’s a rotating range of Christmas beers on keg and in the fridges from the likes of Mikkeller, Anchor, Northern Monk, and some classic Belgian winter warmers.

And there are some special cocktails, too, named Naughty or Nice.

Naughty is a spicy hot toddy with Chivas Regal and Johnny Walker Black Scotch, ginger liqueur, lemon, and spiced syrup, whilst Nice is an alcohol-free apple-cinnamon sour.

All the Christmas specials are available in Bundobust Manchester from Monday 18th November until Monday 23rd December 2019.
