To celebrate the opening of Selfridges Exchange Square’s new shoe galleries, the fabulous store will play host to a variety of different footwear themed activities this week for their Sole of the Party celebration, writes Jemima Forbes…

Receive bespoke embroidery dust-bags and hand-drawn illustrations of your purchased shoes, meet figures from the fashion world, and experience multiple chances to win a complimentary pair of amazing new shoes for your Autumn/Winter wardrobe! It’s a launch not to be missed.

Until Sunday 27th, all shoppers will receive a complimentary gift with any shoe purchase as well as being in with a chance to win a year’s supply of shoes. Jimmy Choo’s stunning glass slipper, inspired by the recent Disney Cinderella film, will be on display and shoppers will have the opportunity to purchase the iconic shoe. The designer brand will also be offering its Jimmy Choo Made to Measure Service so customers can have their shoes personally designed in their choice of colour, style and fabric. Have a go at Heel or No Heel to be in with a chance to win a pair of shoes and flaunt your new purchases by sharing a catwalk GIF with friends using the Photo Shoe-t service.

As part of her launch for new book Make Life Beautiful, world-famous fashion author Camilla Morton will be visiting the store on Wednesday for a book signing and exclusive workshop with writer and blogger Nathalie Theo. Since the release of her first book How to Walk in High Heels: The Girl’s Guide to Everything in 2005, Camilla has gone on to write several witty and intelligent guidebooks for the fashion savvy woman. Book a place now and hear about her extraordinary career, what it means to work in fashion, and insight on her previous books.

Sole Of The Party At Selfridges

On Wednesday and Thursday, shoppers can meet Jane Sheehan, the nation’s leading celebrity Foot Reader. Let her examine your feet and tell you what they reveal about your personality, emotions and lifestyle.

Also on Thursday, a writer from Stylist magazine will be hosting a Q&A about this season’s footwear trends, complete with prosecco, shoe-themed treats and the chance to win a pair of shoes. To finish off the festivities and celebrate the weekend, a live DJ will be pumping out tunes to get you in the party mood with the chance to select a gold tattoo design for your feet to perfectly compliment your new pair of shoes.

Not to miss out on all the action, men will be able to receive a complimentary shoe shine and shoe care kit this weekend with every Ted Baker shoe purchase. Selfridges will also host an exhibition of Manchester United football boots in the men’s shoe department, revealing how the football boot has evolved from the first pair worn by the team to the present day boot of choice.

So what are you waiting for? Give yourself an excuse to buy a new pair of shoes and head on down to Selfridges to experience this shoe-wear extravaganza!
