Dark Fruit-loving Mancunians! The lovely people at Strongbow are bringing you your latest fix of cider-based delights – and you’re invited to try them for one day only this Saturday.
A pop-up cakery will offer fans some mouth watering cider-based baked goods including a doughnut bar, personalised cupcakes, and fan favourite Dark Fruit Ice Cream perfectly sandwiched between two cookies. We know how we’re spending our Saturday!
The pop-up cakery is a response to the thousands of Dark Fruit lovers who have been sharing their own cider-themed cake creations on social media.
Earlier this year, Strongbow held a fan-led competition hosted by international music artist Example. Two super fans teamed up with two cake artists to produce their very own Dark Fruit masterpieces. The groups had two hours to bring their creations to life and the cakes were judged on their ambition, creativity, taste and, most importantly, Dark Fruitiness.
The winner’s creation with be the main attraction at the pop-up event – and you’ll get to try it for yourself.
And by taking part in the event and tucking into some delicious treats, you’ll also be doing your bit for the local community, because all proceeds from the event are being donated to a local Manchester charity.
Last year the brand famously brought Kyle Gentleman’s Dark Fruit ice cream to the city centre and gave away 2,000 tubes after Manchester was voted one of the top three cities for the ice cream pop-up to visit.
The brand wanted to continue to support people who love Dark Fruit, says Strongbow’s Emma Sherwood-Smith.
“From Strongbow Dark Fruit ice cream to can-inspired tattoos and now epic statement cakes, our fans’ dedication to the brand is simply mind-blowing.
“We wanted to continue to hero the legions of fans who get creative with their love Dark Fruit – and what better way to do this than to create a pop-up cakery as a tribute to them and to share the delicious taste with everyone.”
Strongbow Dark Fruit: The Cakery will take place on Saturday 24th November, 12pm – 8pm in the Barton Arcade, Deansgate.
