A 5k beer run with a pint at every kilometre is coming to Manchester this summer, offering Mancunians the chance to combine their love of drinking beer and running.

Designed to get people more active – while also having some fun and a few cheeky bevs along the way, the run will visit five different breweries around Manchester city centre – and those taking part in the 5k will get to sample over five unique beers.

After the beer run has finished, all participants are invited to a fun-filled city centre afterparty where guests can consume as much more beer as their hearts desire – or at least as much as they can handle.

Event organisers, who are bringing the Beer Run to Manchester following its massive success in Australia, are keeping tight lipped on which breweries are going to be included in the day.

But we’re told they have some exciting brands on board – and for anyone who loves beer, it’s a no brainer!

Taking place on 6th July, hopefully the sun will have his hat on for the occasion and the Manchester weather will be beaming, as the run visits five different locations all within the city centre area – with tickets costing around £20 per runner.

To manage runner numbers and ensure everyone gets to enjoy the summer beer run, the run itself will be split into four separate waves, with the first one starting at 12.15pm.

Each wave will start every half hour thereafter and all runners who have signed up to the event will be notified of their start times the week before the run takes place.

The run will last for a total of around two or three hours depending on how long runners want to stop at each brewery along the way – and organisers have asked for all those taking part to arrive for registration no more than 20 minutes before your wave time.

And if you manage to finish the run and avoid getting too drunk until the afterparty, you will receive a complimentary novelty beer bottle opener medal, along with your ticket which includes a free beer in each brewery, a Beer Run bib to avoid any drunken spillages and some other goodies that are yet to be announced.

Do you think you’ve got what it takes to complete all five stops and make it across the finish line?
