Ate Days A Week, a music-themed pie and sandwich shop which has proved a hit in Stockport, is set to open a brand-new city centre spot.
Set for this Spring, the new 36-cover restaurant will open on Cooper Street, close to St Peter’s Square, and follow that same established musical influence, going by the name Come Together.
The new site will go under extensive refurbishment before they open, with a date set as latest as mid-April.
The menu will still feature the ever-popular pies, including the award winning ox cheek, beef shin, pickled potatoes and Parmesan pie, as well as sandwiches and fish and chips.
There will be full English breakfast, and Sunday roasts at weekends.
New savoury dishes will include the likes of pork belly with bubble and squeak, spiced apple chutney and a cider and mustard sauce.
Sweet treats will include cookie pies – cookie dough pastry with a chocolate and caramel filling.
Early last year, Ate Days A Week, the inventive, music-themed classic British restaurant and takeaway run by Andy James, teamed up with independent cocktail business Cherry Jam Stockport and the Vara family to offer free meals to anyone in the community who needed them.
The original spot, a former chip shop on Vernon Street in Stockport, has unfortunately closed to accommodate the move to the city centre.
“This wasn’t an easy decision to make but the way the last year has panned out it just makes sense for us to move Ate Days A Week to a site that allows us to continue to push on with what we do, get bigger and better and fully flourish as a seriously good restaurant in a location that will also play a vital part to that…” they posted on Instagram at the end of December.
“I just wanna take a minute to thank every single person who has supported Ate Days A Week in Stockport, this isn’t the end by any stretch at all! Just an opportunity to grow and better ourselves.”
Taking to Instagram this week, the restaurant explained how the last year had led to the difficult decision, though said that a new venue in the city would allow them to continue their exciting journey.
“Been a bit of a whirlwind week for us here!” they posted.
“I got the keys for our new site in Manchester!!!! And honestly, I’m so excited for what’s going to come!
“Breakfast, award winning pies (obviously!) lunch, dinner, Sunday roasts, music, banging drinks and more!
“To think it’s less than 2 years since I launched #AteDaysAWeek in #Lockdown to then go on to opening in #Stockport then adding @notionbar and now bringing it to prime Manchester city centre – this isn’t the stuff of dreams it’s the stuff of absolute madness!!
“I just wanna thank every single one of you that’s supported us since day one. It’s proper love, I promise ya!
“Now, let’s get bigger and better!”
We can’t wait.
Come Together will open this Spring at 7 Cooper Street, Manchester, M2 4EG.
