It’s been a tough year for many of us – and now we’re more ready than ever for a bit of Christmas cheer.

This weekend, you can fully embrace the festive spirit at The Royal Exchange Manchester, with live music, entertainment, and a few special offers, too.

On Saturday 5th December, The Royal Exchange Manchester will be entertaining shoppers as they browse amongst the shops looking for those perfect Christmas gifts.

Between midday and 1pm, saxophonist Alastair Grant will be playing festive tunes in the Arcade, before moving around the building between 1pm–4pm, entertaining people with a range of favourites, old and new.

Over the three hours, you’ll find Alastair playing outside The Royal Exchange stores along Market Street, St Ann’s Square, Old Bank Street and Cross Street.

Then from 1pm until 4pm, the Arcade will have the wonderful Northern String Quartet playing classic Christmas melodies as you browse amongst the Arcade stores.

Some of the shops and cafes are getting in the festive and generous spirit, too.

Lanigan & Hulme, the premium men’s and women’s wear store, will be offering 15% off on the day, and Michaels coffee house will be offering 10% off their delicious speciality hot drinks to takeaway – just remember to ask for your ‘Christmas gift’ when you order to claim the discount.

Amaranth natural health and beauty store will be running a special promotion on the day, too – buy four Pukka teas and you’ll get a free tea caddy.

And whilst you’re in Manchester supporting the local shops, there’s another reason to visit The Royal Exchange Manchester, too.

The building is offering people the chance to win £250 to spend in one of their shops, cafes or restaurants in the new year.

To be in with a chance of winning, all you need to do is take your photo at the stunning 50 Windows of Art floral installation in the middle of the Arcade (titled Town Hall Hive), share it on social media and tag in @royalexchangemanchester (Facebook and Instagram) or @TheRoyalExMcr with the hashtag #REX50WINDOWS

Celebrate Christmas at The Royal Exchange Manchester on Saturday 5th December from 12pm-4pm.
