The ongoing lockdown across England has meant all but essential shops have had to close, while restaurants can only operate on a takeaway basis – so what’s still open at Manchester’s biggest shopping mall the Trafford Centre?
The destination shopping complex, which this week announced new management, remains open for essential purchases with a number of food retailers and pharmacies still open during the lockdown period which aims to halt the march of rising COVID-19 cases across the country.
Meanwhile, in the mall’s food court a number of restaurants are still open to provide takeaway only. And under the lockdown rules, food MUST be consumed off the premises.
It’s also worth remembering that under the terms of the national lockdown, you are advised to only make journeys for essential reasons, e.g for food, medicine and other essential supplies.
Here’s a full list of the shops and restaurants that remain open. Others are still providing click and collect services, but it is advised to check with individual brands on the services they are providing through lockdown, which is currently due to end on 2nd December.

A statement from the shopping centre said: “Following the Government’s update, from 5th November The Trafford Centre will be supporting our local community by providing access to essential services such as M&S Food Hall, pharmacies and opticians. Food outlets are also permitted to offer takeaway and some of our brands will be offering Click and Collect and virtual services. Please check our website for opening times and further details.
“We’d like to say a gigantic thank you to all our colleagues and retailers who have given their all since re-opening, and all our valued visitors who have done their part to follow safety measures.
“We’ll be ready to welcome everyone back safely in December for the most wonderful time of the year!”
