Devolution Manchester: Integrating with Businesses

Last November, George Osborne finalised plans for the devolution of Manchester – plans which will see big changes across the region as local authorities gain more power.

Instead of decisions about Manchester being made in London, the region’s new financial power will enable local councils to allocate their budget on the areas that need it most.

While plans on how this devolution budget will be spent are still to be finalised, this money will be invested into social care and welfare, housing, employment, land, healthcare and children’s services.

Changes have already begun happening to the region’s healthcare system as a result of the £6billion investment, which should see the NHS being run efficiently in Manchester and the surrounding areas.

The key to Manchester’s devolution is that this budget will enable councils to make better decisions about their area – decisions which should boost local businesses and the region’s economy.

How will devolution Manchester affect me?

Devolution Manchester is about making better decisions for the local community which is why max20 have created an event to bring local businesses and leaders together to discuss devolution and the real impact it will have.

The event will take place on 13^th November at Citylabs in Manchester city centre. Throughout the morning, there will be the opportunity for attendees to put their questions to experts on Devolution Manchester and get to the heart of how this change will benefit the local community.

The panel on the day will be made up of business leaders and NHS coordinators who will share their insight on Devolution Manchester. On the panel will be:
