The Masters at Selfridges celebrates the accomplished. Selfridges’ major AW14 creative project is an exploration of the originators, pioneers and provocateurs that shape the fashion landscape. These are the vanguard, not the new guard.

The Masters, all considered champions of their craft and true Ready-to-Wear icons, will be showcased and sold at Selfridges Exchange Square and Selfridges Trafford – many for the very first me.

The Masters are:

Azzedine Alaïa, The Master of Architecture
Dries Van Noten, The Master of the Eclectic
Jun Takahashi of Undercover, The Master of Subversion
Marc Jacobs, The Master of Mood
Oscar de la Renta, The Master of Elegance
Paul Smith, The Master of Inspiration
Rick Owens, The Master of the Elements
Roberto Cavalli, The Master of Glamour
Thom Browne, The Master of Showmanship
Stella McCartney, The Master of Modernity
Yohji Yamamoto, The Master of Defiance

Each Master has created an exclusive piece or capsule collection that is emblematic of his or her archive or handwriting, their own ‘masterpiece’.

Selfridges has created unique and bespoke installations to animate each garment – some of which will be on sale at the highest price points the stores have ever seen.

A key focus for the campaign will be Selfridges’ collaboration with Master of the Elements, Rick Owens – to present The World of Rick Owens which marks twenty years since the inception of his label. This will encompass an exclusive twenty-piece collection stocked at both the Selfridges Trafford and Exchange Square.

The Masters launches 1st September in Selfridges Trafford and Selfridges Exchange Square and online at selfridges.com/themasters
