A reward has been offered after a brass plaque advertising Sam’s Chop House was stolen.
The plaque – which was reproduced for the re-opening of Sam’s in April 2001 – was fixed onto the wall outside the bar and restaurant but was discovered stolen over the weekend by general manager Joe Bateman on Saturday morning.
The restaurant suspects it was taken in the early hours of Saturday morning.
It’s not the first time that signs have disappeared around Manchester – with previous victims suspecting their signs may have been sold by thieves for scrap metal.
The restaurant is now offering a substantial reward to anyone with information in hopes of retrieving the plaque.
There’s a Frikin of beer (the equivalent of 72 pints) being offered to anyone who can offer them information as to their sign’s whereabouts.
Alternatively, anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
