August Bank Holiday is the last bank holiday of the year, so make sure you make the most of it.
The big event of the weekend is the Manchester Pride Big Weekend 2018. But if you you’re looking for something a bit different, head down to Salford Quays where Meet the Makers is back at the plaza outside the Lowry Outlet Mall.
Over 100 local makers and producers will be there for the weekend selling (deep breath) award-winning cheeses and pies, locally brewed ales, doorstop sized brownies, tasty tarts, rustic breads, spicy sauces, locally produced jams and chutneys and salt and spice gins. And there’s vintage trinkets and handmade crafts, plus potted plants, photography and retro and music inspired art.
Take your time and have a good wander around. The joy of the market is simple. Peruse at your leisure, meet the local makers and sample their wares.
As well as loads of stalls, there will be a demo stage where keen crafters can pick up tips on how some of the makers create their products.
Once you’ve had a good wander and explored everything the stalls have to offer, settle down with a beer or a coffee, have a nibble on some tasty local treats, relax and soak up the waterside atmosphere.
As well as plenty of lovely food and drink stalls, there are fun entertainers, great music and giant lawn games throughout the weekend.
